2009 Sideshow Collectibles Exclusive GI Joe Cobra Commander 12 Figure AFA Grade
Thank you for looking at my listing. This is a rare opportunity to own a rare GI Joe Figure. Cobra Commander was released by Sideshow Collectibles in the USA back in 2009. This is a 12 premium figure. They released two version of this figure, the standard one and the Sideshow exclusive one. This is the rarer exclusive version. The difference being this version came with a staff with a concealed blade. This example was sent straight into the Action Figure Authority (AFA) for grading in the USA.
The AFA are the most respected grading company. The figure was graded under the 3 Tier Grading process which looks at the box, window and figure. This is the only example of this figure currently graded using this tier!
The AFA gave the figure a 90NM+/MT grade across all categories. Box shows a few spots of light scuffing and impressions, a few very tiny and minor surface stresses by the top right edge, and a very small surface stress to the left of the cobra logo on the front. Window is high grade with only light scuffing most notable in the upper corners of the action figure compartment. Figure is of a high grade with an excellent paint job. His accessories are very nice but have minor paint imperfections, the most notable of which is on the cobra sword.
Overall, this has the properties of an average - slightly above average AFA 90. IT REPRESENTS ONE OF THE NICEST SIDESHOW DOLLS GRADED TO DATE! Once graded the figure is sealed in an Acrylic display case and it does make an amazing display piece.
The figure has never been on display, I actually forgot I'd got this until early this week when I found it on top of a wardrobe. It has been in the plastic dust bag since it came back from the AFA in 2009. The piece weighs just under 4KG!
